Why is The Institute co-located with SMU?
Several reasons.

For starters, the SMU School of Engineering is a
national leader in developing programs that present
engineering as an important and vital potential career
path to high school and younger students. Our Infinity
Project,^SM developed in partnership with Texas
Instruments, has been implemented by dozens
of high schools across the United States to involve
students in engineering, scientific and technical
programs that will prepare them for
the college engineering environment.

Also, the SMU School of Engineering has adopted a
mission of delivering Engineering and Beyond -
a more well-rounded engineering education curriculum
that produces highly skilled engineering and
management talent that is capable of much more
than simply excellent engineering. The school is producing
the leaders of tomorrow's business and technology worlds -
so why not start from a younger level?
